Hi, I’m John, the person behind 19 Projects.
I help businesses look better, work smarter, and make sense of the digital stuff that somehow became part of everyone’s job description.
I’ve been freelancing through 19 Projects since 2002, helping businesses with websites, design, and digital marketing. Over the years, the technology has changed quite a bit. The need for someone who answers your questions and gets things done? That part hasn’t.
I love what I do. I enjoy the creativity, the problem-solving, and seeing an idea turn into something a client is excited to share. I have fun doing it, too, even when I’m spending an unreasonable amount of time moving something three pixels to the left. It matters. Trust me.
Alongside my freelance work, I owned and operated a successful online nutrition company for 16 years before selling it in 2016. Running my own business gave me firsthand experience with eCommerce, marketing, customer relationships, and the many jobs that fall under “owner.” Turns out, that title comes with very few days off and a surprisingly broad job description.
My background also includes an associate degree in Web Commerce and a certificate in Web Technology Web Commerce. My school offered me a teaching position the day I graduated. I guess they really liked my work. I’ve put that education to work alongside the lessons you only learn when it’s your own business on the line.
Since 2016, I’ve served as Senior Digital & Web Consultant for Morrow & Associates, handling website development, marketing materials, and technical troubleshooting. I also co-founded PlayerVision412 / PlayerSwap and have worked with small businesses, service companies, and sports organizations on websites, branding, marketing, and custom online tools.
Today, 19 Projects brings all that experience to your business. Whether you need a fresh website, a stronger visual identity, or someone to figure out why that button suddenly stopped working, I’m your guy.
Having been on both sides of the business relationship, I understand that you need work that serves a purpose, fits your budget, and makes your day easier. Sometimes that means building something new. Sometimes it means improving what’s already there. And sometimes it means gently suggesting that the website from 2012 has earned its retirement.
